differential ID

I'm having trouble identifying what differential my truck has. Three dealers said I have three different differentials. I own a 2003 ford E550 super duty 7.3 2WD. Tag on rear is 02142828. I am looking for oil type and capacity.
Thanks Dana

That number does not cross for us. On the heavy-duty Spicer axles there will always be a complete identification plate attached to the axle assembly. If you can find this and give us all the information from the plate we can most likely find exactly what you have referencing direct from the manufacturer.

Different manufacturers have different methods of identifying the models and components. Tell us what vehicle you have and we can then better help you try to identify what axle models you have.

The size (or model) front differential gears you have is an 8.25" model.

For the gear ratio, check the RPO code sticker in the door jamb or one of the glove boxes/console for the GT and GU series numbers. Common RPO codes are GU6 3.43 and GT4 3.73, but if you can't find either of these two codes, list us all the codes that start with the letter 'G'. If the sticker is faded or missing, you may have to either contact the dealer or make a physical check of the assembly to identify the ratio.
